Along with our current two excavations at Petit Portelet and Les Varines we are also continuing a re-organisation of La Cotte de St Brelade lithic collections. Over the next few weeks we are reorganising this material that will give us a window into Neanderthal behaviour. With over 94000 artefacts we have our hands full this summer. But some of the material we have seen already is beginning to develop a view of homin behaviour throughout human occupation of Jersey. This side of the project will be taken forward by Sam Griffiths (University of Southampton) and Andy Needham (University of York). Keep checking back to see our progress.
